This blog is about school life in The Alpha Kindergarten (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam). TAK adopts a bilingual curriculum (Vietnamese-English) to teach Vietnamese pre-schoolers in an international setting.
For this Friday's Special Treat, our children went to ASYC for parachute play. Children love to play with parachutes and TAIK kids are no different. Running under the parachute, flapping it, being caught in it - it's lots of fun.
It's Mid-Autumn Festival and we had a great time celebrating the occasion. There were games to play, a puppet show meticulously prepared by teachers, lantern display of student-made lanterns and of course, nothing is completed without chow-time. Our children had a wonderful morning, memories of which will linger for a long time to come. Playground decorated with lanterns
We bought 4 parachutes from Singapore - these are to be used for outdoor activities for our children. Teachers of TAIK and ASYC got together to learn the various games that can be played with parachutes. This should add some excitement to our morning exercises.
TAIK staff joined us for a trip to Cai Be and Vinh Long in the Mekong Delta. Some have not been to Cai Be before and were excited about it. It was a good time for bonding as we got to know each other better through the trip.
The doctor comes a-calling again as it is routine medical check day. Medical checks are built into our system to ensure that our students have a clean bill of health. This keeps the school environment safe and healthy, and also saves parents the hassle of having to bring their kids to the doctor.
H1N1 is on the rise in HCMC and TAIK is doing its part to ensure that our children are kept safe. Daily temperature checks are made, especially when our children arrive at school.
We request parents' co-operation in the following :
1. Keep your children at home if they show symptoms of flu such as cough, cold and fever.
2. We need you to bring your child home if his/her temperature is more than 38.5oC
We are in the midst of our summer programme as our kids go about with more fun and activities in school. There are more hands-on activities to make the summer fun for children.
